Ric Lacata gave a presentation on sustainable design to the ASIDSC today. It was great to see him again, and hear his findings on the benefits of green design. It was staggering to hear that 50% of our energy in the U.S. is spent on the built environment. With green design becoming more accepted today (and the only smart choice for our planet's future), he challenged us to design in a new way, one in which form transcends function.
He also recommended the coming together of the local AIA and ASID for future events. Sounds great to me!
