Architectural Digest

I read this month's A.D. in the tub tonight (respite from homework plz). It was chock full of furniture classics from the Modern Movement. Enjoyable, is flipping through the layouts, being able to pick out a Mies Van der Rohe Barcelona chair, an Eileen Gray table, a Warren Platner side table, Harry Bertoia Diamond series barstools, and a Eero Saarinen Tulip table, paired with Eames chairs.

Despite the fact that I've been frustrated as hell with my design instructor this semester (and last semester too) I've learned more in this class than any other :) If she could turn her attitude into a positive one, she'd be worth her weight in gold.

Eero Saarinen.
Eliel Saarinen.

Them Finns are condemned to utter darkness for 6 months a year and spend the time coming up with wackjob names for themselves (while plastered on spirits made from fish).

Eero's responsible for that structural disaster, Kresge.

What's his name broke one of the windows while we were playing barefoot soccer. "THAT WAS ME! ADD IT TO MY BILL!"

Skateboarding on the TWA building would be cool, though.

Or...we could invert the St. Louis arch, strap ourselves on airplane carts (Superman style), and in the words of Everclear, "Just go flying."
