Designer's Challenge

Bright and early Saturday morning, I headed over to Hunter Lake Elementary for our designer's challenge meeting. Two local schools, two design teams, two faculty lounges in much need of a makeover. This was our second meeting, and we busted out the design in a little over two hours. I LOVE it when I get in that design groove with my teammates. Although it's an extra project on top of a full school load, this is just the ticket to get my creative juices flowing. Having it be a community service project is icing on the cake :)

Design anxiety factor: Install date is January 14/15. Oil base primer on the laminate cabinets. Too cold for the oil base to dry outside, and a whole lot of VOCs in an elementary school. Hmmm. Guess I'll bring it up with facilities at the next meeting.

I heard that you guys got a lot done - which made me sad. I wish I could have gone, but I just had so much to do. Every class had something for me to turn it. Shucks! I am glad that you guys figured out a lot of stuff though!

Join us at the upcoming meetings if you can. I was sad you weren't there xoxo. The next one won't be as exciting though. We're meeting with facilities and getting permits taken care of. Maybe you can help with the install since we'll be on semester break :)

And I hear you on having things to turn in...I've got projects due Monday and finals of course. I'm currently in Auburn, and have a dinner tomorrow night and a committment on Saturday. Looks like a few really "late nighters" for me. We're almost there though, wooohooo!
