Movie Theatre Evangelists

The Friday night Social in Vegas was supposed to be just that, a social. I had representatives from three colleges meeting me there so we could talk about their student chapters.

That's not what happened, this is what happened instead:

15 Surround Sound Missionaries dressed in black, all introducing themselves, lots of hand shaking and pushing of the business cards

Owner of million dollar plus home (this is a write-off home, when he's in town he stays at a hotel - how bout feeding a third world country instead my friend) is riding around on his people mover (handicapped I understand but it really just made the evening weird) has us sit down and sit through an hour and 15 minute presentation on how great he and his business are. I swear the techies were giving testimonials and we all had to give them a hand when they spoke of wiring jobs running anywhere from 50 to 150 grand. Come on folks, let's give them a hand!

Mind you, I'm irritated because the whole event was two hours. By the time people got there, got something to eat and watched the presentation, time was up.

THEN! The techies say how they want us to tour the house and they are sure we want to see the guy's lamboregheeknees (ha) and his bentleys. Blah. I couldn't get out of there fast enough!
