Nary a Scrabble game to be had

Had a nice time seeing Beth and my parents. We knocked out 3 Sunday New York Times crossword puzzles. My neck hurt from having my puzzle slanted to the right. Dorks, all of us.

Got home Saturday afternoon, and it was nice to see Kev. We had been apart for the better part of a week, so we dusted off a bottle of wine, ordered a pizza and settled in to watch a movie. The movie was a mistake.

We rented Syriana - we agreed it was Kevin's turn for a guy movie - and he thought the picture of an explosion on the cover looked good. The movie starts:

Me: I don't get it
Kev: me either

an hour later...
Me: I have a feeling we're not smart enough for this movie
Kev: I'm still waiting for something to happen
Me: This is stupid
Kev: I bet your dad would get it
Me: My dad could be immersed in a good book, with this movie playing in the background, and he'd still get it
Kev: I'm still waiting for something to happen

15 minutes later...
Me: we're not smart enough for this movie
Kev: let's turn it off

*instant relief for both of us thanks*

I enjoyed it.

Though there is a fair amount of WTF involved.
