I'm so happy to hear of the Burner's efforts towards community and environmental practices. This year, Black Rock City residents have been doing several noteworthy things. Burners have been helping the residents of New Orleans by razing homes damaged in Hurricane Katrina. The average cost to raze a home is $6,000-$10,000. Burners have been razing for free please. They have also planted trees (lots and lots) to offset the use of lumber and carbon dioxide released from the construction and burning of The Man. Lastly, Black Rock City residents disassembled the structures used at Burning Man, and then donated the lumber--15 grand's worth--to Habitat for Humanity. This will build approximately 13 low income homes ((13)).
Burning Man is known to be the cleanest event anywhere. Not only do crews make sure the playa is impeccibly clean after the weeklong event; crews return months later with metal detectors to make sure nothing has been left behind. Clean playa, happy environment, good people. Yay.

Yes, very nice think indeed. But if your president Bush spent his budget for social field instead into Irak war, it's more and more better for all the world.
I couldn't agree more.
