Solar Heat Gain Coefficient and Chai

I met with Sheri yesterday at Starbucks to give her an architectural sample box of high performance glass; she's designing an addition for a client and the entire east exposure is glazed floor to ceiling (dig that). Anyway, our quick cup of coffee turned into a 1-1/2 hour chat (not hard to do). We both had client folders with us so we walked each other through the remodels we're working on. We always have a good idea flow between us. Yay for synergy :)

Yay for coffee talk. We need to have ours soon. School is driving me crazy! Need to vent.

We do need to get together soon. We should load up on Starbucks and then order our caps and gowns *hip hip*

Let me know what works for you, and I'll do my best to oblige sistah.

Sorry school is driving you nuts. We'll get a venti so you can vent eh?

This weekend has totally been my the crappiest yet, so it's probably a good thing we didn't get together. Next weekend?

I've got a party to go to on Friday night and Saturday night, and I'm planning on painting my living room too at some point.

How about Sunday?

SHGC is all teh voodoo!!!

Who noes how much light comes in the window?! How much HEAT?? I sure don't! S'not like I can tasted it or weight it!!

SHGC = 0.87 times shading coefficient?!

WTF is that? it's all DOE secrets I tell you. Who defines these lousy terms?! What if I have blinds? What if the blinds are part of the window?! What if I can otherwise vary the permeability of my window? WTF then?? uuunnnngghhh DOE suck it

I talked to some dudes making windows into solar energy collectors (OMG BEST IDEA EVAR) and I told them a better way (possibly) to go about it. Then I showed em my magic wand and they axed if they could keep it. I cut it in two and gave them half.

What's the SHGC of the trees growing in front of my house?

SPOOKY HOUSE GHOST COEFFICIENTS

boo

I can't wait for the party. See y'all there. Send hot pixx plz,

Dear Byron,

I know you like it when I talk dirty to you so get ready.

I used to have a solar heat gain coefficient of .70 and a shading coefficient of .81

Because I'm not afraid of the spooky, now I have a solar heat gain coefficient of .31 (omg) and you'll never believe it...a shading coefficient of .36 (omg!!).

WTF does it mean, you ask?
It means the kids' hair is darker, my bedroom walls are muddier, and I have an overwhelming urge to start painting.

Holy shit..I have 6 gallons of caramel color paint. Wheee. Why the hell not?

Please tell Sooz not to be the super scary spectre. When she slides through my windows at night I don't want her to take the heat out with her or bring the cold in either. I'll give her pb&j sammies to stick to her ribs if she's nice k thx.

P.S. There are a couple of guys in Reno playing around with solar energy collecting windows. Maybe they got ahold of your magic wand. Anyway, last year they installed prototypes in a big hotel/casino. Over the course of a year they saved over $400,000 on their energy bill. I clap for that.
